The short version
AIRemote sends what you say to your own computer, on your own network. We don't run servers, we don't have accounts, and we never receive your data.
One thing you should know: speech recognition is performed by your phone's own speech service — usually Google's — and depending on your device and settings, that service may send audio to Google's servers to transcribe it. That happens between your phone and Google, not through us. See Speech recognition below.
Who we are
AIRemote is provided by [COMPANY]. You can reach us at [EMAIL].
What AIRemote does
AIRemote turns your phone into a remote control and microphone for a chat window on your Windows PC. Your phone connects directly to a helper program running on your computer over your local Wi-Fi network. Recognised text and control commands travel from your phone to your PC. Nothing is routed through servers operated by us.
Information we collect
We collect nothing. We operate no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. We have no ability to see your messages, your voice, your contacts, or your usage.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the following locally on your phone so you don't have to re-enter it:
- The IP address and port of your paired computer
- Your pairing token
- The window title you've chosen to target
This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Speech recognition — please read this
When you hold the microphone button, AIRemote passes audio to the speech recognition service built into your Android device. On most phones this is Google's speech service.
Depending on your device, its settings, and whether it is online, that service may transmit your audio to Google's servers for transcription. This is standard Android behaviour and applies to most apps that use dictation. Google's handling of that audio is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not by this one.
AIRemote itself never receives, records, stores, or transmits your audio. We only receive the transcribed text, and we immediately pass it to your computer without keeping a copy.
If you want fully offline recognition
Install your language's offline speech pack on your device — typically Settings → System → Languages & input → On-device speech recognition, though the exact path varies by manufacturer. With the pack installed, recognition can run entirely on your phone. AIRemote requests offline recognition wherever your device supports it.
Permissions and why we need them
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Microphone | To capture speech while you hold the talk button. Audio is used only while you're holding it. |
| Camera | Only to scan the pairing QR code shown by the helper on your PC. No photos or video are taken, saved, or transmitted. |
| Internet & network state | To connect to the helper program on your local network. |
| Wake lock | To stop the screen sleeping while you're actively using the remote. |
Network communication
AIRemote communicates only with the helper program running on your own computer, over your local network. It does not contact any server operated by us or by any third party.
Children
AIRemote is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Data deletion
Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything it has stored on your device. You can also clear the app's stored data at any time via Settings → Apps → AIRemote → Storage → Clear data.
Third parties
We do not share data with third parties, because we do not have any of your data. The one third party involved in normal use is your device's own speech recognition service, described above.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, note it in the app's release notes.
